The Arthritis Council Strategy 1 Workgroup held a meeting on October 12, 2023, to discuss partnerships and strategies for sustaining and disseminating Arthritis Appropriate Evidence-Based Interventions (AAEBIs).

The goal of the workgroup is to provide a platform for national and state partners to engage in discussion about all aspects of AAEBIs, including capacity building, delivery, and sustainability. Attendees discussed the Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program, the AEA Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program, and the need to reach out to Nick at the Arthritis Foundation for additional information.

We also discussed local organizations as partners to help reach the target population and ensure accessibility and considered adaptations for those with accessibility issues. The group shared a resource on working with physical and occupational therapists.

Lastly, they discussed technology platforms to support AAEBIs and mentioned that Workshop Wizard developers are retiring, potentially selling the platform, and WV and IA are pulling together a document that outlines their needs. The workgroup’s next meeting is on November 9th at 2:00 P.M. ET.
